3. Menno-Hof

Menno-Hof is an education center that teaches about the background and history of the Amish and Mennonite communities. Throughout the center you will encounter exhibits, presentations, and displays that explain and show their history well. The tours through Menno-Hof last approximately 1 hour and 15 minutes. It is also conveniently located right across from the Shipshewana Flea Market, so make sure and stop in at Menno-Hof if you made a trip to the flea market. The museum is all inside, and a perfect spot to go on a rainy day to learn more about the history of the Amish and Mennonite communities in Shipshewana.

4. Yoder’s Red Barn Shoppes

Visit Yoder’s Red Barn Shoppes, which is located on the outskirts of the Shipshewana Flea Market. The barn features 10 stores with handcrafted Amish furniture, handmade jewelry, ladies clothing, home décor, and more! It is another inside shopping complex, so don’t worry about getting wet. After you are finished here make a stop at Yoder’s Meat & Cheese, which is in the same parking lot as Yoder’s Red Barn Shoppes.

5. Blue Gate Restaurant, Theatre, and Shops

Make sure and grab a meal at the Blue Gate Restaurant! Enjoy classic Amish cooked meals, with comfort food such as fried chicken, mashed potatoes, noodles, and so much more! Right inside the Blue Gate Restaurant is plenty of shopping to do, start in the bakery to shop for freshly made goods, and work your way to the downstairs where there is tons of shopping to be done. There is even a laser engraving station if you would like to customize some of the products!

Make sure and check out the other shops located next door, including Traditions and Shipshewana Furniture Co., which are furniture stores. The final shop to check out is the Craft Barn, which is located across the street from the main entrance of the Blue Gate. The Craft Barn includes Shipshewana shirts, mugs, and other souvenirs, a boutique, and an all-year Christmas shopping experience!
