5 Shops You Must Visit in the Davis Mercantile

The Davis Mercantile is an indoor shopping center in the middle of Amish Country, Shipshewana. It is tucked in town located behind the Blue Gate Restaurant. It contains four floors of shops, twenty-one different stores, and multiple small restaurants! It is the perfect spot to spend day shopping by yourself, with a friend, or with your entire family!

Here are our top five suggestions of must visit stores in the mercantile.

  1. Aunt Millie’s Candy & Nut Shop

Aunt Millie’s Candy & Nut Shop is located on 3rd floor of the Davis Mercantile and is the perfect spot for your kids to enjoy, or for you if have you a sweet tooth yourself! Their store features gummies, chocolates, snack mixes, saltwater taffy, jellybeans, old fashioned candy, and candy perfect for your kids! They have jellybean and other candy dispensers, HUGE jawbreakers, and tons of selections of candies to choose from. You won’t be disappointed if you make a stop at Aunt Millie’s Candy & Nut Shop.

2. Lolly’s Fabrics

Lolly’s Fabrics is located on the 1st floor of the Davis Mercantile and has tons of fabrics and quilting supplies. Lolly’s first fabric shop opened in 1981 in Aunt Lolly’s garage. Since then, they have moved to multiple locations, but found their home in the Davis Mercantile. They provide inspiration for quilts, fabrics, patterns, and anything you can need for your next project. They also host several quilting groups comprised of a few hundred quilters.

3. Simple Sounds

Simple Sounds, Inc. is a music shop located on the 1st floor of the Davis Mercantile. They are a unique music shop with a lot to offer! They contain mountain and hammered dulcimers, acoustic instruments, CD’s, print music, harmonicas, wind chimes, and so much more. If you are into music or have someone you need to shop for that is, this is the spot for you!

4. Head Over Heals, LLC

Head Over Heals is an outdoor shop located in the LL of the Davis Mercantile. This shop is the perfect spot to stop and grab some apparel and supplies for your outdoor time spent in Amish country. They feature apparel from Columbia, Life is Good, Merrell, Keen, Crocs, and Tilley. They also have a lot of outdoor supplies such as kayaks, footwear, and more.

5. Kitchen Cupboard

The Kitchen Cupboard is a quaint little coffee shop located on the 1st floor of the Davis Mercantile. They have plenty of seating so that you can take a break from shopping and enjoy a freshly brewed cup of coffee. They offer lattes and macchiatos with plenty of flavors to choose from, and the option to have it iced or hot!
