Morning (9:00 AM): After a restful night at the Blue Gate Garden Inn, wake up and get ready for a fun day ahead! Start your morning off with a complimentary hot breakfast at the hotel, which includes an omelet station, waffle bar, and lots of other great breakfast foods.
Morning (10:00 AM – 12:00 PM): First thing on our agenda is a visit to the Dutch Creek Farm Animal Park! Arrive at the farm at 10:00 AM to meet and interact with all types of animals. Feed them, pet them, and learn interesting facts about them from the friendly staff. It’s a hands-on experience that will bring smiles to any kids faces!
Afternoon (12:30 PM – 2:30 PM): Next, head to the Davis Mercantile. Inside, you will find lots of kid friendly shops such as a candy store, toy store, and music store. Don’t miss the carousel located on the top floor, with a great view of Shipshewana! It will take you on a merry-go-round adventure! Choose your favorite animal to ride and enjoy the music as you go round and round. It’s a ride filled with joy and laughter!
If you get hungry while you’re in the mercantile, make a stop at JoJo’s Pretzels. Take a step into the first floor of the mercantile and be greeted with the smell of freshly baked pretzels! Let the kids stand and watch as the bakers twist the dough into pretzel shapes. Choose from a variety of pretzel flavors, such as original, cinnamon sugar, garlic, and so many more. A pretzel is a perfect treat for even the pickiest of eaters!
Afternoon (3:00 PM – 4:30 PM): Let’s add another exciting activity to our itinerary! Visit Kid’s Kreations, a doll store in Shipshewana. Here, you can design your own doll! With the help of friendly staff, choose the doll’s features, dress it up in outfits, and give it a unique name. It’s a chance to let your kids get creative and to come home with something to remember Shipshewana by.
Evening (5:00 PM – 7:00 PM): Make a stop at the Blue Gate Restaurant for dinner! Choose from menu dining or a buffet, whichever your kids decide on. Enjoy classic Amish foods such as fried chicken, mashed potatoes, noodles, and so much more. Don’t forget about the amazing pies for dessert!
